I believe in the benefit of informing my patients about their type of stroke and how the stroke happens. I think that if the patients know the mechanism of their disease and the risk factors involved, they might feel that they are more in charge of their life style for example and then they have the right to choose the best management line for their health problems. In our health board in Wales we complete the care bundles questioner for every TIA patients whom we see in the specialised clinic. One of the questions on the third care bundle is about information given to the patientS or their carers about the disease. I am keen to tick this box for all my patients.
