Currently we do anticoagulate patients with AF and ischaemic stroke.  In our practice we start Warfarin two weeks follwing the clinical diagnosis of CVA and we stop the Aspirin if the INR is 2 or above. 
This article from The Lancet today is about the recent developments in AF management. My interest is in stroke risk stratification and the use of anticoagulation.

I think it depends on what you mean by low . My practice now is pretty much to anticoagulate everyone unless there is absolutely no other stroke risk factor - it is often the youngest patients who are least at risk but I think they also have the most at risk.

in my practise,low risk patient and patient not tolerate warfarin, very eldery , i continue aspirin for lifelong.

Aspirin is a possibility, and so is Clopidogrel.
Warfarin is not easy to manage especially with elderly patients and you should bear in mind the risk of hemmorrhagic complications.
