Imaging is condusive to imagery. There is some amazing radiology art out there, for example from Kai-hung Fung, who publishes regularly in Radiographics journal, and Nick Veasey, my personal favourite who works directly with x-rays (see below). Wilm Delvoye is another.

Does anyone know of any other artists that have worked with medical imaging?

I didn't realise you had such good fetlocks, John. Must be a hoot in the jungle when swinging in vines. A real turn on for the female gorillas?

Do you drink champagne out of your glass slipper too, after spitting out the bunions?

Thank you, kind Sir!

But surely your anatomy is better than that, Oddysseus?
I look like this in an X-ray, if I wear high heels or not!

John, the link won't work. Please try again as I'm intrigued!

Art in radiology (Xray art) has a long genesis in Australia.

Very interesting to a cultural recognition and representation of the human skeleton - when does it date to, Oddi?

John - can see the link now.  This is like much of Nick Veasey's stuff and, like the stilletto, is computer-twiddled merging and manipulating of x-ray images.  Unless there's a particularly bold model out there.  Brings a new meaning to 'bearing all'.

Australian aboriginal art which dates back about 60-80,000 years and which began on a Thursday. It is quite diverse but one type of their art which is very regional is Xray art. All animals are represented as an Xray; kangaroo, fish, dugong, bird, human etc. I find it very beautiful as it presents another dimension to the animal.  Each person also had his or her totem; an animal which is a sort of avitar to put it in a modern context or in Harry Potter's paradigm, one's patronus.

I like the dot art of the central desert as this is three dimensional and never tires but that is another subject.

What are they trying to represent with this transparent imagery? Inner strength... The frame around which the body is built... Recognition of mortality through decay?
