I'm a bit late but happy World Mental Health day for the 10th October everyone! The WHO have sponsored an animated short film called 'I had a black dog, his name was depression'. The film is written, illustrated and narrated by Matthew Johnstone (who also has a book out of the same name). The black dog which he uses a metaphor for depression constantly shadowing him is interesting, because it's apparently what Winston Churchill called his own depressive disorder. You can see the film at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiCrniLQGYc A good thing to direct patients or carers to, or to show medical students. More info is at: http://www.who.int/mediacentre/events/annual/world_mental_health_day/en/index.html |
