Internet Addiction means spending more time on internet for unnecessary things like game and chating. Many people spend 12 - 14 hours on Internet and it is called as Internet Addiction. Many people are addicted to Internet but theya re aware of it. It is very important to cure this addiction as soon as possible. otherwise, it is really very dangerous.

I am not sure how to define internet addiction but I have certainly seen a case of it.  I work with a Forensic Computer chap who is utterly consumed by his computer world.  He has 'hackers manicure' where the tips of his fingers are callused and flattened by years of using a keyboard for twelve hours a day. His fingers subconsciously hit the H and J orientation keys with small pimples on them and types without looking at the keyboard - he uses his thumb to operate letters rather than just to space.  It is quite something to watch.

He seems to talk about nothing else but the cyber world and seems something of a loner.  He uses his own computer as soon as he arrives home and 'works' late into the night communicating with other geeks (as he calls them and himself).

Having said all of that he is quite brilliant at interrogating computers and seems to be able to find hidden information that computer savvy criminals who cover their tracks.  But I certainly feel that he is dependent on his computer world, he admits that his laptop never leaves his side and on holiday or days off if he does not use his pc he is preoccupied with anxiety and craves for his pc.
