The 8th World Congress on Mountain Medicine will be held in Arequipa, Perú concluded successfully as news come.

It was 8 through 12 August 2010.

The hot topic in this congress was about "Genetic secrets of High Altitude Adaptation' as we have recently seen scores of publication in PNAS and Science.

Previous conference had attracted much attention on hypoxic tent training of athletes.

The center of attraction of this congress: Genetic basis of high altitude adaptation! We have been seeing buzzing publications quite recently!

About mountain medicine, in the Medical School of National University of Trujillo, every year we do basic research on High Mountain Physiology, like part of the course. I hope soon, we will be able to publish all the rearches of the two last years. There has been 10 years of investigations on high altittude here, sometimes in Huancayo and now in Huamachuco.
I would like have been on the congress.
