Is a Zombie Apocalypse Possible & Can Zombies Exist?

I offered this post before, and do so again, as part of a research project. To all clinical champions, and Odysseus, Please take this post seriously, I am inquiring into the possibilities if an actual Zombie apocalypse is possible, and if any disease could cause zombie behavior? John D, Steve, and of course Kirked please chime in on this one, and all others. I wonder if some twisted Biogeneticist might graft Rabies and some hybrid form of Toxoplasmosis Gondi, or some other disease together to for the basis for Zombies? Our US CDC has an actual Zombie apocalypse site, just curious, please indulge my curious side good Doctors of the Esteemed BMJ, and of Course Matthew Please chime in. DuaneF |

Zombie apocalypse is quite possible & one cannot exclude their existence with our incompatible human brain! This matter is beyond the scope of human brain as I think. |

I think their existence is beyond any doubt as I see them at conferences all the time rushing around with their poster under their arm or rehearsing their next talk on their laptop and doing this totally jet lagged after a 23 hr flight from some hemisphere to another for the big one. They live on melatonina and modafanil and speak in hurried phases, and usually only in medical Morse Code and scientific acronyms which are unintelligible to humans. We have a sticker on the back of our car which says " WE DON'T STOP FOR ZOMBIES" meaning we run them down. Yes, they sure exist and are multiplying. |

Being a zombie is essentially mentally being in an extreme form of psychosis where you are not able to display emotion towards other human beings or be able to account for your actions or be aware of your actions. Find a drug that can induce this level of psychosis or a drug that is able to induce a state where you do not perceive things the way normal ppl do. So I think it is very possible to induce a zombie-like STATE but to create a zombie in the traditional sense (re-animation of a corpse that has only very basic neural response- ie a desire to eat anything) i think is out of our reach..... ....FOR NOW mwahhahahahaha!  |

No John D, I was attempting to elicit some Outside the box thinking from the elite BMJ! I guess that is beyond the sterile clinical finite skills of those here.
