I seen and come across a number of times where iPad and smartphone have help in clinical roles

iPad used to explain procedures and what wrong with a patient

Smartphones helping doctors etal find the information they need quickly

Hospital guidelines etc that form part or all of an app

Satnav and apps built into smartphone that stop people getting lost in big hospitals

iPad and iPhone able to look at x-rays and share that information as well

Paperless proscription issue etc

but some times I think it is the technology that get in the way of patient care...

due to being to hard to use
not working how it should
ICT department
too many thing to do at once
too little time

I do not think so! We can use the technical advances wisely instead of being distracted by the unethical features.
Smartphones can be of immense value to us & are equivalent to the advanced fourth generation computing features like telemedicine, VOIP, online consultation, immediate availability of solution to any healthcare problem, even on the move!
