The opinion article in the New York Times on the 3rd of June and a recent article in the JAMA have stirred considerable comment on the subject of routinely recommending salt restriction in all of your patients. Who do you recommend salt restriction to?

I don't recommend restriction per se. Rather I go for a "no added salt" approach for everyone.

Salt restriction is not advisable to everybody as a routine practice. In fact the salts are essential for our fitness & to live a healthy life! I do never advice salt restriction to anybody.

No added salt is best approach,   there is enough salt in what we eat now. DuaneF

no added salt but not salt restiction.salt is very essential constituent for maintaining phygiology.
