I couldn't help but read this article in the Daily Mail about an outbreak of Tourettes among teenage gilrs in a small high school in New York state. The Mail likens it to a dancing plague in France nearly 500 years ago during which 400 people took the streets saying they couldn;t stop dancing- some of them apparently died from whatever you die of if you dance too much (blisters???) such as exhausation/stroke/MIs. Two local neurologists are saying the tourettes is most likley due to anxiety and stress rather than other contenders suggested such as bacterial infections... The cure is, they say, not to log on to Facebook and You Tube where sufferers have posted their symptoms for the suggestible to catch them.
