Hello Constantino_305: As a medical student, I think you are getting the right idea. Unfortunately, vested interests are dominant nowadays in the diabetes world. And lowering glucose levels is the easiest way to make money in diabetes care. In type 2 diabetes mellitus, Insulin is third line therapy, and I do not think this study will change this recommendation. Exogenous insulin, as any drug, has its own benefits and harms, and should be well indicated. To be short, we need to be very careful about the conclusions of this ORIGIN study. All Best to you, Joey
