In Response to Re: ecg from a 16 year old...: This is a tiny copy, but how about the PQ-intervall - isn´t it rather short ? But I really couldn´t tell...need to talk to my ophthalmologist first. Posted by Carolin could be long QT interval |

In Response to Re: ecg from a 16 year old...: Well quite difficult to say with no other clinical hint. Anyway, I think the PR interval is short, or maybe I'm wrong.! This raises the possibility of The Lown Ganong Levine syndrome or a 'wandering pacemaker syndrome'. Some kind of pre-excitation. There is a small notch in the V1 as well; I would probably think this is normal but depending on the symptoms, I might even go down the route of an echo to rule out an ASD! The LGL syndrome is more likely as the PR intervals are the same. There is no specific change hinting at WPW (that is also a possibility) or anorexia nervosa or metabolic abnormalities or endocrine pathology such as Addison's. Anyway, I think this very much depends on how the patient presents, and I would think more of some congenital problem due to the age. |
