Perhaps I am stating the obvious but have you seen your General Practitioner?

After you have been worked up by your GP, you might consider seeing a psychiatrist  to manage your anxiety and OCD .

Dear Raviprakash,
After careful evaluation of what you have described, your problem does not seem to be cardiac but is surely related to your psychiatric illness, probably what is known as 'acute severe anxiety'. So you are required to consult your psychiatrist, & also for the purpose of your satisfaction you may consult an eminent cardiologist.
Thanks & wishing you a rapid recovery.

it is possively case of depressive illness with somatization.i think mirtazepine or milnacipran bestly acts on this.CBT is also needed.

I also have same symptom. I have pain in my chest since last 7 years. I have been to several different doctors, went to emergancy for 5-6 times in different hospital and also consult cardilogist.  Cardilogist took nuclear stress test (while I was in pain) and he said you are as healthy as any normal person would be. My primary doctor took 10 times stress test(while I was in pain and no pain) also my year over year EKG is same. In this 7 years may be 20 times EKG has been taken by all these different doctor and all they said is everything normal. My doctor treated me with Anxiety/Depression but it seems like not helping with medicine like cymbalta or lorazapam. Lately I pinpoint that whenever I lift weigth it cause me pain for sure. Any thoughts what problem I have?

Thanks

Hi Keyur. First, I would like to point out that I am not a Doctor, just a Nurse, so I do not have the knowledge of some of those on here. Having said that here are my personal opinions:

1) It is good that they have ruled out a Cardiovascular cause as that would be the most important.
2) You say your doctor treated you for anxiety/depression with medications but did he refer you to Psychiatry/Counselling for this. Treating anxiety or depression just Pharmacologically may help a bit but it won't address the reasons for the anxiety/depression. If your Doctor thinks it is Psychological, then you need specialist review to try and get to the cause of it, otherwise it will just continue. Did anything happen 7 years ago that may have started it? Some kind of personal trauma/injury?
3) You mention that you get pain when you lift weight: Are we talking about a significant weight or are we talking about any weight at all (for example, 10KG or 1KG)? Was the pain, prior to lately, always caused by lifting a weight or is that just lately? If it has been that all along, then it may possibly be a muscular issue (a weak muscle etc) though for it to intermittent over that length of time is new to me.

Overall, you have done the right things so far by being seen by your doctor and having investigations. I'm afraid, with symptoms such as this, it is sometimes a case of working through all the possibilities until you find the cause. It could be Physchological (maybe caused by anxiety) or it could be physical (a weak muscle etc). Perhaps post back with a bit more information and maybe some others can advise, although be aware that on here we can only speculate as it is difficult without doing an examination.

Raviprakash and keyp,
I fear my fellow contributors to this website are most unwise to try and advise you, apart from strongly suggesting you see a doctor.  I'm sorry, keyp, if yours has been unable to help, but doctors are not all-knowing.  Nor are they all-seeing, or capable of examining someone online.  Dr.A in particular has emphasised the importance of the complete history and examination when trying to help a patient, yet has offered an opinion here.

I repeat the advice of our non-clinical (not a doctor) but learned friend, kirked, to get the help of a doctor who can see and examine you, and arrange appropriate investigations.  This site is not one where medical advice should be sought or given.
