The American Heart and American Diabetes associations have agreed that sweeteners are ok. Some people argue that all taht happens is that people 'compensate' by eating the sugar somewhere else!

Posted by Happy Some fifteen odd years ago an editorial in the BMJ highlighted hepatocellar damage from artificial sweetners. Anybody? The person using it is encouraged to remember the taste of 'sweetness' in the food or drink - it is the brain that needs to forget the taste so that cravings for sweet stuff are modified. After all one can teach the brain to do anything - even put salt in the tea - if one persists long enough or teach them young enough. |
