After reading the Bush-Blair War crime post, and posting myself,  I come to the conclusion that much of the posts here, are both Divisive, and Non-sensical!   It is pretty obvious that there are many opinions here on the Bush Blair topic, but alas, they are opinions only.   No one has provided proof of any torture, or wrong doing so this endless Rhetoric should be put to rest, and something new should be brought forth.  DuaneF

I suggest you skip the polls, Duane. It looks so democratic ?nay even Republican.
I think you should just nuke us all and the BMJ. It is the obvious solution. The alternative is a pre-emptive strike and just...well...invade. But that is messy too with all those prisoners to feed and collateral damage which means more green forms in triplicate et cetera.

Trouble with bombs over a 100 megatons they just blow up the stratosphere and well, a good old 50 megaton can do so much more with less mess.

Why not just use high energy magnetic pulse weapons. That way you have no need for prisoners, or collateral damage. The explosion is 400km up in the stratosphere so will do no property damage on the ground but the electronic disruption will close down civilisation. The disruption of supply chains will starve at least 75% of the population to death within 12 months. Ans the bonus is that there will be no electronic fora.

Yes, we do.
But no more than any other message board, and the conversations, howver heated, are NEVER at the level of  contradiction and insult, seen elsewhere.   We are a very civilsed board, as we should be.

It would be nice if a message board could be conducted at the level of a multidisciplinary team meeeting or a seminar, with serious debate and information exchange, to teach and learn and improve us as doctors.  But I'm sorry, thta's not what message boards are about, and it's in the name.    They are the equivalent of a PostiT on the fridge, or a scribbled note on a cork-faced message board, that the Internet allows to segue into a casual drinks-party or pub conversation, into which people drop in and out, sometime to debate and argue, sometimes to make a point and leave.

The BMJ has its CME sections that are seminars, and do make us better doctors.   The College of Other Knowledge that we attend here at doc2doc needs to remain a medical conversation.

Tim:

That is not going to cut the mustard. After your barrage in the Bush-Blair posts- you have earned yourself a missile strike.

Watch out tonight. If you hear a whirring sound over your house- RUN.

Very true, very true

We deviate once in a while and vent. Blame it on primal testesterone.

On another note, my family and I are super exicted about the Olympics.

John D, when you find the camera rolling, can we work out a sign, that you can flash so that we know it is you and cheer.

I thought the sole purpose of this sort of forum was to find the people who were easiest to wind up and then keep tightening the spring until heads exploded...

Now you need a psychiatrist.

I do not think Duane F meant anything detrimental to people of German ethnicity, if that was what got you riled up initially.

I understand your concerns about Guantanamo - please be kind to read the book " To Kill or Capture".

Peace be with you. Shall we talk about the Olympics now.

Did you not pull the wings / legs off Daddy-long-legs (crane flies) when you were a child?

Dousing a fire by adding petrol is always an interesting pursuit...

I actually went to a boarding school in England. We were not allowed to hurt small children or kill small animals.

Did not fireset either, or play with matches or petrol- was never diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder.
