This'll be part of the Coalition's 'nudge' policies. They don't legislate, they offer inducements, in the hope that this will solve the problem. Bit like Mr.Micawber, "Something will turn up", and in this case it's a megacompany that sees the opportunity for big publicity at small cost. They are applying the same policies to healthcare. We're doomed. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/jan/26/big-society-nudge-units-doubted JOhn |

In Response to Re: Should Coca-cola reward designated drivers?: This is already done in major league baseball parks in the USA. A designated driver is issued an identifying wrist band and two coupons for free soft drinks from the Cocal-Cola company. There is no literature on whether this reduces drunk driving . . . but it is much appreciated by the recipients and it does raise awareness of the issue. Also, no alcohol is sold in the ball parks after the 7th (of 9 plus possible overtime) inning. |
