The UK Faculty of Public Health (FPH) have said that because drinking alcohol to excess has become so commonplace that drinks should have graphic health warning labels on them to show links between drinking alcohol and getting cancer, becoming infertile or aiding domestic violence. http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2012/jul/13/alcohol-packaging-graphic-health-warning?newsfeed=true Do you agree? Is this a good idea? Or will people tend to keep on drinking on regardless of the health implications? |

In Response to Re: Should alcoholic drinks have graphic health warning labels on them?: Grapic labels on wine bottles? I think we should have factual information eg more that :"One bottle a day can give you Korsakoff's psychosis." "More than x glasses/day increases the relative risk of breast cancer in women by 1.235673 recurring % in a double-blind cross-over study of 23400 basset hounds". Keep it simple. Posted by Odysseus Text is far too easy to ignore - graphics are more potent psychologically, especially if they shock or disgust. That's why I quite like the idea of showing someone a picture of liver cirrhosis.
