It is not surprising. They find that doctors are amongst the highest earning members of the society in USA as well.
Many consultants earn more than thier chief execs, some medical directors earn more than their chief execs, many consultants earn more than the secretary for health, some consultants earn more than the prime minister.
Okay we do not earn Bob's Diamonds but as a distinct professional group the earnings are high. Quite deservedly after tough exams, long training and the stress of directly affecting another human being's life.
