Before i get pilloried (for the link and possibly the topic) have you read about Medical Detection Dogs?

Apparently these dogs can sniff a urine sample and indicate whether someone has prostate cancer! http://medicaldetectiondogs.org.uk/prostate.html

The dogs can also apparently sense oncoming anaphylatic shocks, lower blood sugar levels and also fetch medical supplies!
