The British Liver Trust has said that a short burst of alcohol abstinence is pretty much pointless and that it is better to stave off alcohol in regular periods throughout the year. After Christmas, we tend to try and eat and drink less, and exericse more in an attempt to repent for our gluttonous excesses. But this is often short lived and is perhaps a misguided -psychological act to redress the balance. Can a January detox ever be beneficial in the long run? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-16354472
