I have often wondered if Chess produces Logical synapse activity in the brain. I offer this assertion since many of the people I know who play chess seem more logical. I love to play chess

I have often wondered if Chess produces Logical synapse activity in the brain. I offer this assertion since many of the people I know who play chess seem more logical. I love to play chess, and often find it stimulating to my own brain. A well orderd brain? Like Bobby Fischer, Rubenstein, Repetto, Alekhine, etc.etc, Garnd Masters all. But outstanding artists in any field may have mental problems; Van Gogh, Mel Gibson, Howard Hughes, Winston Churchill, Frank Bruno, Stephen Fry, Elgar, Tchaikovsky. Can't think of any actual leading doctors, but there have to be some. Mayabe they have enough insight to get tretament before they break donw in fornt of the papers. I'd say that following any structured discipline is a mark of a excellent mind, from gardening to freefall jumping. Chess is just one that has an especially strong structure. John |
