As you may be aware, the government has 'paused' the passage of the Health and Social Care Bill – setting out major reform of the NHS in England - and is currently conducting a 'listening exercise' to determine how the reforms should proceed. The exercise is being led by the NHS Future Forum – a group of clinicians, patient representatives and other stakeholders. Join NHS Future Forum chair Dr Steve Field and his fellow forum leaders in a special live webchat on the BMA website from 7pm to 8pm on Monday 16 May to send in your views and ideas. Three chat rooms will allow you to discuss some of the key issues in the listening exercise, with input from the Future Forum experts: - Training, Commissioning, Clinical Advice and Leadership with Dr Kathy McClean, current Medical Director of NHS East Midlands and Julie Moore, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust Chief Executive - Choice and Competition with Dr Steve Field, Chair of the NHS Future Forum and former chair of the Royal College of GPs. - Implications for the NHS workforce and patient involvement with Geoff Alltimes, Chief Executive Hammersmith and Fulham Council and former joint Chief Executive of Hammersmith PCT. This is your chance to discuss these important topics with your peers and feed your views directly to the people who will be reporting direct to the government on how the Health and Social Care Bill could best be amended. The BMA is also preparing its own submission to the NHS Future Forum and you can contribute to that using our short survey. Access the webchat and survey details at www.bma.org.uk/listening |

It doesn't say how to access the web chat. Will this info be posted soon? Do you know how to access it? Posted by Rebs Hi Rebs, A link to the webchat will be available on the Listening webpage from Monday morning (though the webchat itself won't go live until around 6:55pm). The webchat will be behind a log-in as it is member-only. Hope that helps. Coral |
