What made you want to be a doctor ?
Basically it was my ambition since I was a very young, this was coupled by the high grades throughout my education which encouraged me to apply for medical colleges
Why did you choose your speciality ?
I found internal medicine most interesting, it is the fast growing branch where one can apply the academic knowledge to the practical work, moreover there is much more chances for clinical researches
What’s the most interesting thing about your speciality/job?
Grand rounds....Case presentation and clinical audit are the most interesting
What has been your best moment in medicine?
The first Hernia operation which I did when I was a house officer,... I felt like a genius
And your worst?
When I was working in a medical ward, I was attacked by a psychotic relative of a patient, I found it shameful to runaway with the stethoscope hanging from my neck
What advice would you give prospective doctors?
Learn how to study, and realise how to study can vary a lot, do as many work experience and voluntry work, build up communication skills, be involved, and develop a leadership role, and finally, follow a physician like a shadow
What’s been your favourite doc2doc discussion of all time?
I mostly prefer discussions which touch on doctors- patient relationship, because I can learn much from the experience of others, and it becomes more interesting when it involves voting, when I become eager to see the result and compare between different openions
What do you do when you are not being a doctor?
If I am not being a doctor, I would have been a singer, probably very famous, I play Guitar, Piano and Violin and enjoy singing in my free time
