What do you think about the possible psychological and behavioural effects of facebook and other social networking sites on people? Have you seen a case of what is already informally called " the Facebook syndrome" i.e., addiction to facebook? Considering there are more than 500 million people registered on facebook, what does the medical community think about how this new form of social interaction is affecting our mental health? And also, should we start really worrying about the potential economic burden of internet addictions?

In Response to Facebook, Love and Asthma:
I came across this correspondence published in The Lancet about a patient whose asthma symptoms were exacerbated on viewing the Facebook profile of his former girlfriend!! The authors suggested that viewing his girlfriend's Facebook profile and watching her interact with others caused psychological stress leading to episodes of dyspnoea. Surely this is the burden of love! Has the time come to include online activity while taking the history?
