In Response to Re: Do People feel more alienated today than in the past?: Technology has brought about a radical shift in life-styles.Rural living with it`s emphasis on family and community has given way to a more urban, mobile society. Values have been lost. Posted by Mukhtar Ali Call me old fashioned, I do not use Facebook, Twitter, Linked. While technology is great , human contact is priceless. |

In Response to Re: Do People feel more alienated today than in the past?: Hello Kirked: Yoram is right. No offense here, but the unrestricted and the absolute power of Money is what is driving this world crazier and alienated as it never was before. Religious wars are just a by-product of the Absolute Faith for the Money Power. All Best, Joey Posted by Joey Rio Hi Joey, I understand your point. Money is the be all and end all for much of the populus of the world. I suppose the question is how big a part do we play in this money 'game'?. We all want to be comfortable, have somewhere nice to live, have money to buy 'things' that we want/need. We want our children to be well schooled (perhaps that means buying education somewhere) and we want our parents to live somewhere safe and pleasant. Do we just stop doing what we are doing?. I guess the answer is yes - but will we? |

In Response to Re: Do People feel more alienated today than in the past?: Connection and sharing ideas are immensely important. People need to talk to each other, to get to know each other better. From that comes the understanding that we have similar worries, needs, feelings, thoughts. Some more, some less. But basically the human being is a social creature. Posted by yoram chaiter Hi yoram: I fully agree with you about this connection&sharing ideas, and that the human being is a social creature. Unfortunately, as a whole, these human values are getting progressively lost. But I am not that pessimistic. There are lots of people (and perhaps a few politicians) working to regain these values back to our confused and with less spirituality present world, through the necessary political, economic, and societal changes for a better mankind future. All Best, Joey |
