I would prefer to recommend Cardiac Arrest and Bodies from TV, especially if you work/want to work in the UK

No offence, Dr.Hesham, but what a ridiculous list of films.

I mean, Dr.Dolittle, Dr.Zhivago, Dr.No and Dr.Phibes have NOTHING to say about medicine.   Others are there merely because they list a 'Dr.' in the characters (Tombstone, Double Helix - and Watson and Crick were PhDs, not MDs).  As for Doctor in the House etc, and Carry on Nurse, they bear about as much relationship to medicine as Dick Whittington has to economics.   "Coma"?  The list author might as well have been in one.

Star Wars. Job done. Not remotely medical but the only film you ever need to see. The whole human condition right there.

In other news if you're interested in making, rather than watching films, look out for BMJ Careers next week where we've got a short article on making medical films to bolster the CV - more fun than another poster presentation surely?

I suggest you check your facts John D as Dick Whittington did indeed have a relationship to economics as well as healthcare.

"In his lifetime he financed a number of public projects, such as drainage systems in poor areas of medieval London, and a hospital ward for unmarried mothers. He bequeathed his fortune to form the Charity of Sir Richard Whittington which, nearly 600 years later, continues to assist people in need."
