Hello from Athens, Greece!

Let me introduce myself, too. My name is Panagiotis but I think it 's too lengthy for the non-Greek speakers, so I think Panos is more convenient for everybody. I am 24 years old and currently I am a final year medical student (6th year) at the National University of Athens. In the future, I would like to be an ENT surgeon.

I enjoy medicine and I think BMJ publications have offered much, to all of us. I enjoy coming in contact with medical students from all over the world too, and Doc2doc.bmj.com is a great opportunity for all of us to come closer.

Take care,

Panos

Hi to everyone

I am a surgeon at the end of my career aged 64 but will still wish to keep up with all the latest ideas in medicine if only for my own sake now that i am more likely to be a consumer of health care.  I have no idea how useful doc2doc might be but will try it out

Is there a forum for doctors involved in appeals tribunals?.  There might be some useful interchange of ideas which could be invaluable for that group.

Hi robhughes,

Welcome to the forum and you have great suggestion about an issue!!! Is there a forum for doctors involved in appeals tribunals?.  . As far as, I know I don't remember there is but you can create this forum here and lead the discussion, put threads etc!

You can go to the Forum (http://doc2doc.bmj.com/forums.html) - then you will see there many forums where you will see "START YOUR OWN FORUM"  just under "Blogs"! You can click on it and start your forum.

For example, I have started my own forum : http://doc2doc.bmj.com/forums.html?slPage=overview&slGroupKey=e343ea59-9752-44f7-b785-2b872760fee1&slAcceptInvitation=false

I think the doc2doc manager would love have this issue - I'm sure and we need it.

Thanks!

Best wishes,

mati

Hi, I'm Katie. I'm 31 and I'm an ST2 GP trainee in Yorkshire. I graduated from the Royal Free and University College Medical School, London, in 2006. I am also a pharmacist, with a BPharm from The School of Pharmacy, London.

I have seen medicine from the patients' side of things, having been diagnosed with cancer in my final year at medical school. I am still receiving treatment for this.

Outside work, I am interested in family and friends, music, outdoor activites (walking, camping, climbing, cycling), travel,  politics and reading.

I hope to be involved in medcal education in some way in my future career as a GP.

I am enjoying meeting a wide variety of people and opinions on this site.

Hi everyone, I'm Jo from Edinburgh. I am a mature student due to qualify next year (fingers crossed). I worked in the NHS for a fair amount of time before starting medicine, in fields such as clinical audit and clinical guideline development so I am interested in quality assurance. I never have enough time to do anything and probably couldn't function without my lap top! xx

Hello everybody,

I am a 32-year-old haematopathologist from New Delhi, India who came upon this site by clicking on an ad on the BMJ website. Other than my work, my interests include reading, gardening, running and studying the history of medicine.

What I find most intriguing and interesting about this forum is that the issues and concerns of doctors can be so similar (and sometimes so different) across continents and cultures.

Best wishes to everyone,

Prashant

Hi,

I have been a member for just over a month but only really started contributing 2 weeks ago.  I am doing a summer research project in a Drosophila model of Parkinsons, hence why I have a bit more time on my hands. I am a 3rd year Medical student at Oxford, toying with a career in journalism. I am also a medical/science features writer for an Oxfordshire science magazine and my medical school gazette.

I think doc2doc is great for testing the water with writing. I know if I write something in the forum and it gets little response then it’s not that interesting. Also it is great to hear the opinions of others to mould your own.

Pseudonymously,

Max
