Hi,

As we are all new to the site I thought it might be a good idea for us all to get together and post a little bit about ourselves.

I'll go first. I am a 26 year old guy from Cambridge, I have been working as a community manager for over 4 years now. I have been involved in communities' since bulletin boards were around in the 90's, you could say that I was a natural. On a more personal level, I enjoy travelling and have spent many months in and  around Asia.

Please feel free to post on my profile or email me directly at community.doc2doc@bmjgroup.com should you have any questions or just fancy a chat.

Hello,

I'm Anne Marie. I am Generation X not Y,  and have always been interested in the potential of www to connect people and help them learn together. I am a GP in South Wales and Clinical Lecturer in Cardiff University. I wonder if and howcweb 2.0, or 3.0 or 4.0 will change the way I and the medical students I teach, will work, learn and care for patients.

I started on a mission in October to start exploring 2.0 tools. I'm recording my efforts in my blog. At the moment I'm trying to find doctors who use tools like twitter or social bookmarking sites, such as delicious, clinically.

Good afternoon, all.

Actually it is still morning on this side 'the pond' but that's all part of the attraction to sites like this.

I'm very impressed with what I've seen so far: easy nav, tidy and colorful pages, quick to load...well done all.

I'm presently working for BMJ, so lest my boss find me hanging out here too much wasting company time I'd best keep my comments short.

Tata for now!

SG

Hello Everybody here,

I would like to thank BMJ community for bringing out this concept and launching it. This is amazing. Doctors do need forum and now the place is here!

I'm junior doctor from Nepal. I graduated a couple of months earlier from Nepal (Maharajgunj Campus, Institute of Medicine, Kathmandu), Asia.  I also BSc in Chemistry.

I had long been reading (from my second year) studentBMj, BMJ, BMJJournals and other medical journals and sending rapid responses. Interaction, discussion, writing and editing are my interests. Thank GOD, BMJ is free to Nepal !!!

Professionally, I would love to go further ahead with Research. I have been involved in Mountain Medicine and High Altitude Physiology and (ironically) it may be due to being from a mountainous country Nepal.

I'm looking ahead for the postgraduation education in the near future.

I hope to visit here regularly and interact with you all in regular basis. I love it.

Best wishes,

mati

I realise that although I have been blogging and posting for several weeks now on doc2doc I realise I never introduced myself...

I'm a 24 yr old FY1 doctor graduated from Nottingham 08 and am currently working in the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham (although I live across the M1 in Derby). I'm interested in paediatrics and medical education and like to think myself an advocate for FY1s getting noticed for what they do (although some of you will think that very little). For more information about me try reading my blog on "feeling utterly helpless" and some of my forum posts such as "alternative medical reads" and "how far are you prepared to go for your career"
