On the "off duty" section I thought I might find off duty topics. There are so many clever and humorous doctors. Am missing something? Nick

Nick,
I'm sure that you can see the ridiculous side of your work.
What makes you laugh?

(Apart from vicars who slip on banana skins)

Try to find the medical jokes thread we had here recently.

Jokes can be found anywhere. I have a book of them.

Wit  is different in my opinion. It can be found in the content of a post and between the lines. It is not stated but transmitted.

For the wit antigen to work, it requires the wit receptor. Wit is the manifestation of intelligence be it formal, homespun or social.

It is sad to see an intelligent person with no wit. For me it is the same as an old person with no wisdom.

Many doctors are humourless. I find sailors funny as their horizons are further.

Quite a random list this, it’s what I remember at the moment. If you desperately need to feel tickled, kindly check out:

And if you are looking for something original:

4.       http://doc2doc.bmj.com/blogs/studentsblog/_baptism-fire

5.       http://doc2doc.bmj.com/blogs/studentsblog/_adios-doc2doc-now : scroll down; some of the posts are a little serious while the older ones, I am told, might just get you there =)

etc, etc

And of course, if all of the above + your own search doesn’t do the trick, just read all of our resident Anesthesiologist, docta J’s posts in any random thread (he is also known as John D or he-who-loves-chestnuts-in-the-fall)…….never fails to send me ROTFL.

PS: docta J, I did feel your pain regarding the physically fit at the Olympics. I hope you are inspired to get more active now! It’s never too late to feel good again!

Thank you for your compliments, KK!
The usual inducement is in the post, in used notes.
 Used Postit notes.

But my pain is longer existential.  After three days of cycling ten miles or so to my Games shift and back, my leg power is increasing in direct proportion, but to the square power,  to my perineal pain.  Now I know why those Tour de France riders wear a sort of between-the-legs codpiece.
Any advice from two-wheeled doctors?

John
