I'll look in again from time to time and hope that things get better.

Hi John,
I totally agree that this is extremely frustrating. I really care about what I post. Hence, if they are lost; there is no point writing it again.

I went to see your profile and I see you have currently two posts lost:

How is it happening?  I have already sent these files to doc2doc admin...last week or so. I am pretty sure that there are hundreds of posts are lost. I went to my profile updates and just backtracked for few sessions. Just to give you a preview, there are more than 30 posts lost very recently !!! This is something very serious. Given the nature of this kind of serious flaw and I already updated; it has not been corrected yet !!!

This is the series I just backtracked.... 'A symbol with profile crossed and writtent 'Name Withheld: This activity is under review.'' is a sign that the post is not there!!!

Hi John and Mati

Sorry to see these problems are persisting. I am currently on annual leave and will look at this on Monday first thing. Apologies that this can't be sorted out sooner but thanks for sending the screenshots. My suspicion is -ironically- that this may have something to do with the anti-spam filter we fitted to prevent the recent spate of spam we have been experiencing. This is frustrating because the people who we want to see posting and contributing are unable to. This is my priority and will try to look into it when I am back home and near my laptop!

John, I hope your absence is short. Since I have been a member you have been an essential part of this site. Hopefully the gremlins will be sorted. I must say I have no such probblems so I don't have any idea what is causing such problems,

Regards,

Kirked

Sorry to see you go John. I have only been on this site a short while but I can already see that you are a valued member of the site and so it will be sad to see you leave. However, I understand the frustrations when forums dont work properly.....personally, I have not encountered these issue since I have been here but maybe I don't post enough to notice or I need to be here longer to notice it. Anyway, take care and hope you return to the forum soon (once the problems have been fixed).

@ mbillingsley: I wouldn't be surprised to hear that your anti-spam filter is causing these issues. I have seen the effects of these filters on numerous forums in the past and usually they just need a slight tweaking as they are, invariably, set up to be a bit too aggressive on their filtering. Hope you get it fixed soon before more people leave due to it

Respected John,
I would request you to stay until the problem has been solved. I think you are the most valued critic of d2d & we will all miss you.

Come on John ! This is not the best way to react !
As you can see we have only an engineer here but he will try to resolve the problem.

Matthew,    I spoke to my Army Friend,   he is now a Computer Network Engineer at Raytheon,   and he is virtually 100% sure it is the Spam filter causing the problems,    This is a problem everywhere,  DOD agencies in usa have it all the time,   hence they have people to sort through spam emails.   DUaneF

Thanks for the info Duane.

I am going to lodge a ticket with our technology suppliers to help remove this new filter. Thee main man in our internal Technology department is currently on annual leave but I am sure we can resolve this quickly if it is a matter of removing the filter. We will then look at alternatives and I will keep a vigilant eye on any spam that appears and manually remove it in the meantime.
