According to Lord Stern, former advisor to the government on the economics of climate change, a vegetarian diet is better for the planet. He predicts that as people become more aware of the damage that meat eating has on the environment then it will become more socially unacceptable to eat meat. I wonder whether it will. I can imagine that people will eat less meat, especially if it becomes increasingly expensive, but I don't think people will give it up entirely. I know that even though I don't eat meat a lot, I am definitely a carnivore, and I would find it really hard to give up eating meat altogether.
What does everyone think? Would you be able to give up eating meat to save the planet?
