'Can I drink alcohol and take antibiotics?'
'I have been getting some pains recently- do you know what it is?'
Every medical student I know has encountered the questions.
The problem is- how to answer such questions when you are just a medical student???
The ethics are quite clear and as a recent Student BMJ article highlighted- students have to make clear whatever answer they give- that they are just a student. But the problem is whether you give the generic- 'Talk to your doctor?'
The sBMJ article is very good at outlining some key prblems but I wondered if any seasoned professsionals had either tips or anecdotes about how they coped with the barage.
