You are right about adalat capsules, and the era when Bayar was trying to convice us that this is the remedy for everything, starting with leaking roof to the disintegrating floor.
Then the era came when cardiologists started using ACE sublingually; then started condemning this. I never indulged in this practice.
Aldomet is still the number one choice for pregnancy. But dose you have to use is quite high; frequently upto 1 gm bid. The itching is quite frequent side effect.
Now-a-days amlodipine can be tried. Recently Beta-blockers (all of these) are being advocated providedy growth rate is monitored by USG. ACE are still strictly prohibited. They will remain so as eveidence is very strong against these.
