I must admit I'm a new user of doc2doc, although have known of it for some time; I really feel a doc2doc app would make it alot easier for me to use doc2doc and post on topics that interest me; with the ease of using our smart phones I feel that we simply dont sit at a computer and check emails/browse or use forums as we used to, but rather do these little tasks on the go, in the 5 minutes relief we have dotted around the day. A well designed app would make doc2doc accessible to a good proportion of people who just dont sit down for long enough to use it otherwise |

Hi MissAlk Indeed, I think this is a great idea. A year ago we were getting about 500 views a month via smartphones or tablets and now we are getting over 5,000. We currently get just over 100,000 page views per month on doc2doc, so you could argue that only 5% of visits are made from smartphones or tablets. However, a mobile verison of the site or an app version might see this activity increase because users are more likely to interact with an intuitive version of the site on their smartphone or tablet. I know I have some navigational issues with doc2doc on my iPhone and it would be great to make doc2doc accessible in short bursts, whether you are in the doctors mess, on the bus or just have a spare moment somewhere. What does everyone else think? Would a doc2doc app or mobile version make you more likely to interact? |

the site works ok on the ipad until you fill the "add new post" box beyond the limit of what you can see on the screen. I then found I couldn't see what I was typing as it wouldn't let me scroll. Any long posts I wish to make from my ipad have to written in pages first then copied across |

well i'm tempted to say only 5% of all users of doc2doc use smart phones because its a bit unconforatable to browse the site on smart devices. Its a bit difficult to navigate. An app can be designed for it, just like Medscape has done. And since there's some social component to doc2doc, some aspects of the facebook or other social website app (with permission if required) or any other innovation can be implemented to make mobile access to doc2doc much more interesting. |

Also - I would like to add that 43% of people who open our twice weekly email alert open it on a smartphone. I would be interested to know if a doc2doc app or mobile version would make you more likely to click on items in the email alert whilst you're on the go? |
