i don't want tokens or nose gays.

I'd prefer money sent to my Swiss Bank account. Not Euro or US dollars thanks.

Kruger Rands (gold coins) or dubloons will do. Failing that, pieces of eight. Australian gold would be recycling.

Hi, we can remove your blogging badge if you like. The platinum  badge for posting is generated automatically though, so that will have to stay I'm afraid.

This is a great idea,  I am motivated for sure by certificates, and badges,  we all need a little Ego boost to stir up the creative juices and get us going onward to bigger and better things.

Most doctors are very territorial and ego driven. The others are rare. We like urinating like dogs on posts to mark our turf. Our number plates on their cars attest to this.

Yes, let's boost our ego with some banal BMJ ranking system; some barnyard pecking order so we can show how important we are or how many vacuous posts we have deposited like dog's droppings on doc2doc.

Yes, please send me another icon for my collection of "kills" on the cowling of my cyber-verbage Spitfire.

If you are so against the ranking system Odysseus pehaps we could as the tech team to see if you can have yours removed - would that make you happier?

My trust gave me a lapel badge for 25 years service.
It's bronze, but they don't respond to my pointing out that 25 years is a silver wedding, so it should at least look silver.    You can 'silver' coins and so on, but looking it up it requires some pretty toxic compounds, so I left it.

I wear it on my ID badge, as it came with no campaign ribbon.

Zulfi we would love to give you a certificate but you need to post more than twice. The idea behind them is that communicating with other doctors especially globally has to be worth something in this age of everything you do in life should be counted - especially if you need to be revalidated, We would like to give holidays (and through a compeition we sort of managed that last year) and flowers etc but we can't. Sorry. Occassionally we give amazon vouchers. And we always give you our thanks....

There is a consultant where I work. He has the Order of Australia. On his door he just has his name. Not even Dr, not his specialty. Just his name.

Take off my gongs and tokens. They matter not. As Diogenes said to Alexander the Great when asked what ever he could give him, "Move out of the sun".

Herd mentality runs the world. We are conformists. It ran the Nuremberg rallies, the gas ovens of WW2 and the stock market which governs human life on this planet.

Few step outside the square.
