I think it is great that you are choosing an alternative option for a while rather than directly entering into specialty training. I think it has become easy to be drawn into a programme that may not be for you and seems quite difficult to back track towards a different specialty without losing ground in your training. A good starting point might be the BMJ careers pages online. I also thought about different options prior to specialty training and found the pages really helpful. There is an article by a doctor who used to work in Paris as part of an exchange scheme that may help. Good luck with finding something. Kate. null
