In Response to Should IMGs mention USMLE when applying for UK jobs?: Hi, I have a question. If a GMC registered IMG is applying for a job in the UK, should he/she mention that he passed parts of the USMLE? Is it going to be considered as a bonus or will rather show insufficient commitment? Thanks :) Posted by Motaz I don't think that employers will be particularly concerned with your performance on the USMLE, given that its purpose is to ensure that IMGs are adequately trained to the proper standards over in the United States. I suppose that there's no harm in mentioning it in passing, if you feel that your results have been rather impressive, but if not, then there's really no point in doing so. The potential disadvantages outweight the potential advantages. |
