In Response to Re: Help Needed for CEGPR: I am in a similar position, I am British by birth but moved to Canada 15 years ago. I did med school and a 2 year Family Doc Residency and have 6 years experience working as a GP in Canada. I applied for CEGRP last year. I have just been rejected. They want me to do 6 months training in the UK but on another page tell me I do not qualify as I have already had Post-graduate training. They also ask for a 40 patient survey even though I sent them a 50 patient survey as part of my application. I cannot see what I didn't provide them in terms of evidence. I provided an audit but they said it 'wasn't a 5 step procedure' (I had a 'first stage' audit of my practice done and passed so a full audit wasn't done) I am just lost to know what to do now. Posted by DocNB First of all you cant do 6 months training since you dont have CEGPR ( thts a refresher course and only CEGPR or CESR candidates are elligible) we are also not elligible for full GP training since you have already done /> 18 months GP training internaionally. For you it wont be hard since you were already working as a GP in Canada. Just go for Appeal n u will win. |

Really? I thought an appeal would be a waste of time. Do you know anyone who has appealled and won? n Response to Re: Help Needed for CEGPR: In Response to Re: Help Needed for CEGPR : First of all you cant do 6 months training since you dont have CEGPR ( thts a refresher course and only CEGPR or CESR candidates are elligible) we are also not elligible for full GP training since you have already done /> 18 months GP training internaionally. Make a list of documents to fill thier gaps. Thats it. I have made a reapplication since reapplication is £645. The problem is they just want the criteria to meet thier current UK GP standards. |

In Response to Re: Help Needed for CEGPR: drsamir wrote "The problem is they just want the criteria to meet thier current UK GP standards." Yes that's it, I cannot get my Canadian criteria and their's to meet. Also they ask for things I cannot give them. How can I produce a full audit of my practice? They also want me to 'appreciate the differences in treatment' in the UK and in Canada. Pretty difficult as I have not been part of the UK medical system. I gave them a 50 pt survey and they have asked for a 40 pt one. They said mine was 'patchy and had not been evaluated' (I used a well documented RAND survey) I could go on and on.... |
