I had completed my 4 year GP training from International country, and applied to CEGPR but unfortunately rejected due to lack of documents. They advise me to go through a full GP training in UK. I contacted the GP recruitment and they said i am not elligible to apply since i have already completed > 18 months of GP training. I am left with nowhere and since than doing Locums.
I am now planning to apply again for CEGPR , and they are asking for lobooks, apprisal and audits, presentation, research. How as a  locum would i proivde them? I am regular with bmj cme modules but what about logbooks and other stuff ?

I am in a similar position, I am British by birth but moved to Canada 15 years ago. I did med school and a 2 year Family Doc Residency and have 6 years experience working as a GP in Canada. I applied for CEGRP last year.
I have just been rejected.
They want me to do 6 months training in the UK but on another page tell me I do not qualify as I have already had Post-graduate training.
They also ask for a 40 patient survey even though I sent them a 50 patient survey as part of my application.
I cannot see what I didn't provide them in terms of evidence.
I provided an audit but they said it 'wasn't a 5 step procedure' (I had a 'first stage' audit of my practice done and passed so a full audit wasn't done)
I am just lost to know what to do now.

First of all you cant do 6 months training since you dont have CEGPR ( thts a refresher course and only CEGPR or CESR candidates are elligible) we are also not elligible for full GP training since you have already done /> 18 months GP training internaionally.

For you it wont be hard since you were already working as a GP in Canada. Just go for Appeal n u will win.

Really? I thought an appeal would be a waste of time. Do you know anyone who has appealled and won?

I appealed several times, to each rejection I found new info to meet their specific reasons and eventually got it. keep trying and also save money to live on while you do the refresher course

They are not going to fail you again and again if you give them the documents they need. appeal is i think £645. Make a list of documents to fill thier gaps. Thats it. I have made a reapplication since reapplication is £645.
The problem is they just want the criteria to meet thier current UK GP standards.

Yes that's it, I cannot get my Canadian criteria and their's to meet. Also they ask for things I cannot give them.
How can I produce a full audit of my practice?
They also want me to 'appreciate the differences in treatment' in the UK and in Canada.
Pretty difficult as I have not been part of the UK medical system.
I gave them a 50 pt survey and they have asked for a 40 pt one. They said mine was 'patchy and had not been evaluated' (I used a well documented RAND survey) I could go on and on....

Initially I applied and told them that we didint had any fax or internet in 2001 in our country .Still they wanted those documents and also those should be with the current UK standards. I think they should amend the criteria for applying for CEGPR or international doctors should be allowed the UK GP trining.
But thier eligibilty critiera is businees oriented approach so that customers spend money. They even write that although you didint had any GP qualification and even if you had training , you can apply. Than when we apply we see that we are ina trap. But some of us are very vulnerable since we are left with no choice but to apply and reapply.
