I am currently in my final year of Law school. Medicine has always been an ambition of mine, but since I did not get amazing GCSE's and I did not pick the sciences at A level, I decided to pursue Law as my chosen career path.
I don't want to go into detail, but it was last year when I decided that I want to do medicine. Since then I have started volunteering at my local hospital and spent my summer holidays studying the sciences in preparation for the GAMSAT test which I took in September. Though I did not get enough for an interview, it has not brought me down and I am going to try to sit the UKCAT for 2012 entry.

What I wanted to know is there is anyone else on the forums who has decided to pursue medicine coming from a law background, with no science subjects taken? How did you find coping and what would you recommend?
Also to those Law to medicine people (if any) did you think it was crazy to go into something where there is no guarantee of a place at medical school, as opposed to a good career as a lawyer?

Any advice is useful because I don't know many people in the profession :)
