Dear forum members, I am applying to university to study a degree in medicine in 2012 and because I have a BA and MA I am not eligble to apply for a student loan to cover my tuition fees.

It was Martin Lewis words I have quoted - he was explaining the funding system on Radio 5 Live.

I am not very sympathetic to people who have been funded for a degree and again for a further Diploma or Masters degree. The country cannot fund perpetual students however good their motives to study medicine. I have worked full time and gained my legal qualifications at night or weekends whilst bringing up two children.  I have never been funded to study. Why not get a job and save some money to help you to study further.,
