1. The Lancet have published two papers stating that the NHS is not adequately equipped to treat patients with mutiple health problems. A problem being that most healthcare research focuses on single diseases, when patients suffer from multiple diseases. 2. Criticisms aimed at authors of the APA's DSM5, which is due to be published in May 2013, has led authors to add a footnote “to clarify the difference between normal bereavement associated with a significant loss and a diagnosis of a mental disorder.”
3. Experts from the Society for Radiological Protection have called for cosmetic laser treatment to be regulated, warning that its misuse can result in skin burns, blistering, scarring, and permanent blindness. Cosmetic laser treatments are being used to remove hair, tattoos, birthmarks etc. |
