Thanks mukhtar ali, I've just looked through the Edhi Foundation website. They have certainly done many amazing things too. Perhaps they will consider entering for a 2012 award.

Hi Sabreena,

Now I am back in India. just registered myself at doc2doc. This is a good platform to get interacted with doctors across the globe. Like now  I know about Edhi foundation and along with many others organisations/ doctors/ social worker we could build a strong Disaster relief team for South east Asia region. I am thinking of forwarding this link of doc2doc to all our DOCTORS FOR YOU members and request them to registered at this site.

Any way Dr Vivek and Manasi is allready working on this and will coordinate with you further.

Regards,
Dr Ravikant singh

Thank you Dr. Sabreena, and thank you BMJ. It was an honour to be shortlisted with MSF and Save the Children, and even a bigger honour to receive the award. It was truly inspiring for such a young organisation like ours to be recognised and rewarded internationally. We look forward to future involvement with the BMJ.

Dear Dr Sabreena Malik

Let me start by saying thank you to you for considering my suggestion regarding Edhi Foundation-------it is worth  mentioning here that some years back news were circulating in Pakistan media that Mr. Abdul Sattar Edhi , the founder of the Edhi Foundation, name has been included in the nominees list for Noble Peace Prize. The fact is that he deserves for this award. I also appreciate the idea of Dr Ravikant Singh to build a Disaster Team for South East Asia region involving the charitable Foundations, Organizations, Social workers and Volunteers of the region.
