There's been lots of media coverage in the UK about Margaret Haywood, a nurse who was struck off the register after taking a hidden camera into the workplace to highlight alleged neglect of elderly patients. The footage she took was then used in a BBC Panorama programme. Ms Haywood argued that her film was in the public ... Read More »

The company monitors websites like RateMDs and Angies List, which ... Read More »

The Department of Health has stated that teams providing 24 hour care, highly specialist teams and some remote and rural units would be allowed the exemption of a 48 hour working week. The opt out will last for a further three years before being reviewed. I am confused. Surely every doctor in every ... Read More »

I woke up with a jolt when I heard the buses weren't running-when that was my only way to work. Since coming off my bike in icy conditions 2 years ago -my ... Read More »

I think they have given in to the lobby culture which they claim that they wanted to avoid in the first place. Its really ... Read More »

There was an interesting article in the Telegraph recently about a longstanding issue of debate: private agency staff in the NHS. The story discussed new data on the ironic situation in which the NHS is paying huge agency fees whilst at the same time making job cuts from its main workforce on account of ever shrinking funds. ...
